The Role:
The scope of this role includes the following major civil works:
•Site preparation – e.g. site clearance and levelling, excavation, earthworks
•Infrastructure provision – e.g. roads, power supply, water supply, water treatment
•Drainage facilities, Security fencing
•Buildings, e.g. control room, sub-stations, offices, warehousing/stores
•Structures and foundations – including equipment supports, pipe racks, towers etc.
•Provide technical assurance and oversight for the design and construction of the civil and structural engineering works
•Implementation of Client Major Project Common Practices (MPcp) Engineering and Quality Management expectations within discipline area

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
have experience of major projects, design/construction with a good knowledge and understanding of civil/structural design codes and specifications.  Good general knowledge of the field of civil engineering with specific experience in the following areas:
•Conceptual and detailed design of onshore structures, foundations and civil engineering works,
•Geotechnical design including the planning and execution of site soil investigations.
•Proven experience in a Civil Engineering position (essential), preferably within the oil and gas industry.
•Member of a professional body such as the UK Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent (essential), and qualified to degree level in Civil Engineering or similar related discipline.
•Thorough knowledge of industry standards and client ETPs within discipline area

  • Mineable oil sands geology and/or operations experience is a benefit to the role of this position.

Job Function : To be the focal point on a project for all Quality matters, providing support to the project team.

Scope of Works :-

1) to establish and maintains project Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans;

2) to schedule and conducts internal and external audits, surveillance visits and process reviews;

3) to monitor project generated procedures and the implementation of the Quality Management System

4) to liaise with the Client on all project quality related matters

Responsible for ensuring where appropriate, all procurement documents are adequately endorsed with quality requirements

5) to co-ordinate procurement quality in major packages, including bidder evaluation, input to requisitions and purchase orders, bid evaluations, pre-award assessment, attend bid clarification meetings and pre-production meetings

6) to monitor product and service quality at sub-contractor facilities Ensure supplier and sub-contractor inspection and test plans are reviewed and approved

Prefer Skills Set :

1) Possess clear and effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent negotiation and communication skills (both verbal & written).

2) Able to work effectively within a team environment

3) Computer literate and able to effectively use Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, Outlook etc). Document Control skills.

4) Possess Good level of general education required, preferably Diploma/degree in Engineering/Quality management

5) A good auditing and CQI Quality Management qualification would be preferred.

6) A good understanding of ISO 9001 and other international management system standards is required.
